The IMF will provide Ukraine a new tranche of one billion dollars
WASHINGTON, March 4 — RIA Novosti. Experts from the International monetary Fund (IMF) has reached agreement with Ukrainian authorities on allocation of the next tranche of financial assistance, the decision can be made in the second half of March, according to a press release from the IMF.
The consultations were held at expert level, which should provide its report to the Board of Directors of the IMF, which will make the final decision on the allocation of financial assistance. The IMF promised to complete this work in Ukraine and provide it to the Board of Directors in January of this year. As a rule, the decision of the IMF Board of Directors shall take into account results of work of mission of Fund.
“IMF staff has reached agreement with the Ukrainian authorities on the updated Memorandum of economic and financial policies. This opens the way for consideration of the third review of the arrangement under the extended financing facility, the Board of Directors… in the second half of March,” — said in a press release.
The four-year program of financial assistance the IMF provides, inter alia, the allocation of Ukraine the Fund of $ 17.5 billion.
Kiev has already received three tranches totaling 7.7 billion dollars. The last tranche was received in September 2016. In 2017 Ukraine plans to receive from the IMF of about $ 5.4 billion.
The report of the IMF notes that the completion of the third review will allow you to give Ukraine about 1 billion dollars. Thus, according to the Foundation, this will bring the total amount of financial assistance to 8.32 billion.
