Putin said the demanded experience of Gorbachev

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated the 86-th anniversary of Mikhail Gorbachev, the first President of the USSR, head of the International Foundation for socio-economic and political studies. The text of the telegram published on the Kremlin website on Thursday, 2 March.

“For many years you are busy with important public research activities, participate in expert discussions about ways of development of the world community, to strengthen international cooperation. In this serious work to fully demand your knowledge and vast professional, experience”, — stated in the message.

In addition, the Russian leader wished Gorbachev health and all the best.

Mikhail Gorbachev — the Russian politician and public figure, the first and only President of the USSR (1990-1991), since 1992 — head of the International Foundation for socio-economic and political studies (the Gorbachev Foundation).

He has won more than 300 state and public awards, diplomas, commendations and distinctions. In October 1990, Gorbachev was awarded the Nobel peace prize. He also has honorary degrees from several Russian and foreign universities, is the author of several dozen books.
