The Orthodox celebrate forgiveness Sunday

Orthodox believers celebrate February 26, forgiveness Sunday. Traditionally it is celebrated on the last Sunday before lent. On this day, Patriarch Kirill will perform worship in the temple of Christ the Savior in Moscow, reports RIA Novosti.


 


“Sunday evening, in commemoration of Adam’s exile, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill will make Vespers with the rite of forgiveness at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The beginning of worship at 17.00”, – told the Agency of the Moscow Patriarchate.


 


According to custom, on this day the believers forgive each other wrongs, and repent of sins.
