The Kremlin does not agree with the findings of a new report of Amnesty International on the situation of human rights in Russia.

“This is not the first (the report), it is regularly produced documents. In many ways we usually do not agree, – said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. In this case I do not agree with such conclusions, which are made at this time.”

In the published annual report analysing the human rights situation in 159 countries around the world Amnesty International said that “Russia’s continued harassment of NGOs, and the most critical was persecuted with the use of smear campaigns in the media and the law “On foreign agents”. According to the report, dozens of independent NGOs receiving foreign funding were included in the register of “foreign agents”.
