Peskov commented on the blocking of Ukraine’s statement at the UN Churkin

Official Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has refrained from estimations of actions of Ukraine, which blocked the adoption of a presidential statement of the UN Security Council in connection with the death of the permanent representative of Russia Vitaly Churkin. His words on Tuesday, February 21, the correspondent of “Tape.ru”.

“It (the death Churkin — approx. “Of the tape.ru”) is really a great loss. In the background of this loss of such a behavior of our Ukrainian colleagues… Yes, God will judge them! Nothing more to say” — said Peskov in response to a request to comment on the incident.

“And not so important against the backdrop of the losses suffered by the Russian diplomacy,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Ukraine until the end of February presidency of the UN security Council blocked the adoption of the official application dedicated to the deceased the day before Vitaly Churkin.

“This whole current Ukrainian “government”: nothing good can not do, only all mess up, including myself,” she said.

At the same time, the UN security Council unanimously adopted a statement for the press. It is noted that the Council members mourn the diplomat, who headed the mission of Russia to the UN over 10 years.

Vitaly Churkin, on 20 February, died suddenly in new York at the age of 64 years. According to media reports, the death was caused by a heart attack. The Russian President called the incident an irreplaceable loss for Russian foreign policy.
