Kiev’s decision to block the official statement of the President of the UN Security Council in connection with the death of Russia’s Ambassador Vitaly Churkin impossible to evaluate in the political arena. This opinion Tuesday, February 21, was expressed by Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei chepa in an interview with “Tape.ru”.
“Ukraine’s position is surprising for its cynicism, this is not politics — it is nonsense,” — he stressed.
Chepa said that he heard from colleagues a lot of good words about the Russian Ambassador after his death. “I am now at the conference, where we were approached by representatives of different countries and Express their condolences over the sudden passing of the distinguished diplomat”, he added.
On blocking Ukraine’s statements on Churkin, said the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on this information, noted the improper conduct of the Ukrainian side. “Yes, God will judge them! Nothing more to say”, he said.
Churkin died in new York at the age of 64 on February 20. According to the newspaper the New York Post, the death was caused by a heart attack. After that, the UN security Council unanimously adopted a press statement in connection with the death of Russia’s permanent representative to the organization.
