A suspect in the justification of terrorism the Imam was released on his own recognizance

His investigation reclassified with part 2 of article 205.2 of the criminal code (“Public justification of terrorism with the media”) to part 1 of article 205.2 of the criminal code (“Public justification of terrorism”). The maximum penalty for this offence is 5 years imprisonment.

According to the decision of the court of the Imam is forbidden to use the Internet, mobile and landline phone. An exception is made for appeals to health workers Velitov has a disability of the second group, he previously suffered a heart attack and stroke.

12 July 2016 he was placed under house arrest. Field investigators of the Center on counteraction to extremism GU MVD in Moscow arrested the Imam earlier in the day.

Velitov is charged with public justification of activities of one of the participants banned in Russia organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami” during the prayer in the mosque “Yardyam” in 2013.

The organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir” (full name “Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami”) was founded in 1953 as an Islamic political party. In Russia its activity qualifies as a terrorist and banned. Cell organizations are in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Belarus.
