Belarus has promised to punish citizens with documents of the DNI and LC
Entry to Belarus on the documents of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk national republics impossible, said the official representative of the state border Committee Anton Bychkovsky. His words are quoted by BelTA.
“We comply with current legislation. In the absence of persons crossing the state border, of documents, giving it the right, we can not miss” — said the Agency interlocutor.
He stressed that while finding such people on the road they will be prosecuted, for example, for violation of rules of stay of foreign citizens and transit through Belarus.
According to the website of the state border Committee, for violation of the foreigner of rules of stay in the Republic provided a warning or a fine of up to 50 basic units (from January 1, the base value is 23 the Belarusian ruble), or deportation
On 18 February the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed the decree about recognition of the Russian Federation “documents and license plates of vehicles issued to citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on the territories of separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions”. The head of state decided that the residents of the territories can enter Russia without a visa.
Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko, commenting on this step of the Russian authorities, said that for him this is further evidence of Russia’s violations of international law.
The Kremlin, however, did not agree with him. According to the press-Secretary of Putin, Dmitry Peskov, Moscow does not equal issued in the Donbass documents to the Ukrainian passports.
“The whole region is under a severe blockade, a severe embargo from the capital, Kiev. In terms of the embargo, people are not able to update, correct, receive, recover lost documents. In fact, they issued documents in this region; these documents, based on humanitarian considerations, will be taken”, — said the representative of the Kremlin.
