VLADIVOSTOK, February 19. /TASS/. New Intercontinental ballistic missiles developed in Russia can overcome any missile defense of the United States. This was stated by Vice-Premier Dmitry Rogozin in an interview to the program “Sunday evening” with Vladimir Solovyov on the TV channel “Russia 1”.
According to the Vice-Prime Minister, the Russian nuclear deterrent force composed of different missiles, including from the “old Soviet missiles” “Governor”, called in the West “Satan”, but is already developing new missiles. “They (the missiles “Governor” – approx. TASS) are very afraid, they are very reliable, their deadline has been extended until until new weapons, new missiles. Work on it goes according to plan,” he said.
“This weapon will soon appear in our army. It is a weapon that can overcome today and tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow missile defense of the United States. We will tear this defense. It is not for us today, but provocation, a serious military threat,” – said Rogozin.
Missile silo-based missiles “Voevoda” with Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) R-36M2 designed to defeat all kinds of strategic targets protected by modern means of missile defense, in all conditions of combat use. R-36M2 refers to the fourth generation of strategic missiles and is currently the world’s most powerful ICBM with a launch weight of 211 tonnes and a payload weight of more than 8 t
As expected, it will replace ICBMs “Sarmat”. Its payload will reach 10 T. Earlier it was reported that the missile was ready in the autumn of 2015, a year passed successful test firing of the engines of the “Sarmatian”. The commander of the strategic missile forces Sergei Karakayev said that the new missile will go into service in 2019-2020.
