Police arrested four protesters in Central Kiev

KIEV, February 19. /TASS/. The police of Kiev began to arrest the protesters in the Ukrainian capital, trying to break through the cordon of security forces. Among the detainees — the leader of one of the so-called volunteer battalions Nicholas Kochanowski.

“On Kreshchatik (the Central street of Kiev — approx. TASS) arrested four men in camouflage uniforms. Among them — the head of the battalion of the OUN (organization of Ukrainian nationalists, banned in Russia — approx. TASS) Nicholas Kochanowski”, — reported by “Public TV”.

At the same time, the part of the protesters continues to provoke the security forces, shouting to them to address abuse, in addition, the police beat on the helmets. Periodically in the direction of law enforcement officials throwing firecrackers.

Initially Sunday around a thousand people gathered on Independence square in Kiev to honor the memory of those killed three years ago in the tragic events on the Maidan.

Among them were representatives of the so-called volunteer battalions, organized on January 25 blockade of coal supplies from Donbass.

In the future, about five hundred people marched to the presidential administration of Ukraine, demanding from the authorities to maintain the blockade of Donbass.

In the evening the protesters decided to break through the cordon of security forces near the National Bank of Ukraine and the presidential administration. Clashes broke out then the people returned to Independence square, trying to break through the cordon of police.
