The Embassy noted that a film about the fans of Russian manufactures shocking and designed to discourage travel to Russia for the 2018 world Cup matches.

MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. Film British broadcasting Corporation bi-Bi-si about the Russian fans intended to discredit the world Cup 2018 held in Russia. This is stated in released today by the comments of the Russian Embassy in London.

British television showed a documentary about the Russian football fans, who alleged during the world Cup in 2018 is ready to take revenge on the British for the riots in Marseille during the European championship in 2016.

“Based on the football riots in Marseille, as well as the filming of the Russian fans of misfits, the authors sponsored by the British government television channel, arranging appropriately the plot, made every effort and means to discredit Russia and the upcoming world Cup. By the way, a similar campaign was conducted before the Olympic games in Sochi”, — reads the statement of the diplomatic mission.

The Embassy noted that the film makes a shocking impression and created in order to discourage the British fans desire to go to Russia for the main football event. While the Russian diplomatic mission has assured that security in Russia is “of paramount importance”.

Meeting in the group stage of the European championship between England and Russia took place on 11 June in Marseille. The atmosphere around the game was tense in connection with the fan clashes, which began in Marseille on 9 June and culminating on game day. Police were forced to use smoke bombs, tear gas and water cannon.
