MOSCOW, February 17 — RIA Novosti. Providing fuels and lubricants group of the aerospace forces (VKS) Russia in Syria is the most important task of pipeline troops and fuel service of the Russian army, said on Friday Deputy defense Minister army General Dmitry Bulgakov.

“Particularly important in the activities of the pipeline of troops and fuel service in 2015 and is currently providing fuel group videoconferencing in Syria. In a short time there was established a corresponding material base, a unique logistics system — the “Syrian Express”, providing prompt deliveries of fuels and lubricants in accordance with the required need of troops,” — he said at a military history conference on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the creation of the pipeline of troops and the 81st anniversary of the founding of the fuel service.

“Currently, the base Hamim commissioned centralized refueling fuel with the possibility of refueling aircraft 20 at the same time”, — said the Deputy Minister, noting that in future “the fuel management system of the troops in Syria will be enhanced through the use of a main collapsible pipelines third generation based on high strength pipe of metal composites”.

Bulgakov recalled that in 2016 the Armed forces of the Russian Federation has delivered more than 2 million tons of oil, of which 1.3 million tonnes of aviation fuel for aircraft fuel and 40 thousand tons of fuel oil for Navy ships. “This resulted in the departure of the aircraft of long range aviation in different regions of the world and the military presence ships of the Navy in the World ocean”, — said the Deputy head of the military Department.

He also noted that in 2014-2015 the military pipeliners “with honor carried out by the Russian government the task of providing water to the population of the Republic of Crimea”. So, in 2014, has deployed 80 km of field pipelines (PMT) and served 700 thousand tons of drinking water to the residents of Sudak-Feodosia district, and in 2015 for 48 PMT lines with a total length of 250 km served 1.7 million tonnes of water in the North Crimean canal.

“The use of military pipeliners PMT helped to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe in the Crimea, providing water to the population and industry of the Republic”, — said Bulgakov.
