Protection Navalny appealed the verdict in the case of “Kirovles”
KIROV, 17 Feb. /TASS/. Protection Alexei Navalny appealed the verdict of the Leninsky court of Kirov on which he was convicted of embezzling the funds of the company “Kirovles” and sentenced to 5 years probation. TASS said the lawyer Olga Mikhailova.
The complaint challenged the legality of the court decision and requested the cancellation of the sentence and the acquittal of the convicts. Assessment of these arguments will give the appellate court of the Kirov regional court.
The second defendant is the former head of the “Vyatka forest company” Peter Ofitserov got 4 years in prison conditionally. Probation for persons convicted was 1.5 years, they were also fined 500 thousand rubles each.
Bulk after the meeting, said he would appeal the verdict and its consequences, deprives it of the possibility of participation in presidential elections of the Russian Federation, in three instances — the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, constitutional court of Russia and the Kirov regional court.
It was a re-examination of the case “Kirovec” in the Leninsky district court of Kirov. In July 2013, the court ruled Navalny and Ofitserova the same sentence.
However, on November 16 last year, the Presidium of the Russian Supreme court overturned it and sent the case on repeated consideration to court of Kirov in connection with new circumstances.
The Supreme court has reviewed in connection with the decision of the ECHR, which found in violation of the right to a fair trial.
