Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree to neutralize threats to energy security. Thus, the head of Ukraine enacted, adopted on Thursday the decision of the Council providing for the diversification of sources of supply of coal and provision of Energougol, as well as other measures related to blocking coal supplies from Donbas. Ukrainian nationalists have blocked freight rail connections to the LC and the DNI in late January. The blockade has led to shortages of coal, produced at uncontrolled territories of Kiev Donbass. The Ukrainian authorities had to introduce a state of emergency in the energy sector to save resources.
