The state, together with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) should focus on social development and propaganda of traditional values, said the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko. Her words leads TASS on Friday, February 17.

The Senator noted that the “cooperation” of the Institute of Church and state in the social sphere is constantly expanding. She noted that the Federation Council takes into account in its legislative activities, the wishes of the setting up of a Council for interethnic relations and cooperation with religious associations.
“No matter how difficult sometimes, we may be in life, let us never forget the wise and fortifying the strength of the human spirit of the biblical Covenant — “be Not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good””, she concluded.
