The foreign Ministry warned Russians of the dangers of travel in 111 countries of the world

The Russian foreign Ministry has warned Russians about threat of arrest or detention by law enforcement bodies and special services of the USA in third countries.

This is the official website of the Department.

“Strongly recommend to the Russian citizens planning trips abroad to carefully weigh all the risks, especially if there is reason to suspect that claims to them by American law enforcement. This primarily relates to travel to countries with U.S. extradition treaties (the list of States published on the website of the Department of state)”, — stated in the message.

The list includes the countries of Europe, Egypt, Turkey, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Israel and other countries.

The report said that “despite our repeated calls to develop Russian-American cooperation between competent authorities on the basis of a bilateral Treaty on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters (1999), are still recorded cases of unacceptable practice “hunting” for Russians worldwide.”

“The number of incidents of this kind have exceeded three dozen. In 2016, the United States was extradited the Russian citizen M. V. Cenis, A. E. Sergeev, and M. V. Serov from Finland and M. E. Vartanian from Norway. Recent examples are the recent arrest of S. V. Lisova in Spain,” — said the foreign Ministry.

Also in the example given the high-profile case of Viktor bout and Konstantin Yaroshenko.
