Putin noted that Lyubimov is a native of Kaluga, where he studied and began to work. Lyubimov noticed that “worked” in the Ryazan region. He admitted that he considers it “very promising, very beautiful, with a rich cultural and historical past, with rich potential in tourism and, of course, developed industrial and agricultural region”.
“I think my experience could be useful just in Central Russia, in the field, which is very similar to Kaluga”, — said Lyubimov.
Earlier in the day, the President accepted the resignation of the Governor of Ryazan region Oleg Kovalev and appointed acting head of the region Deputy of the state Duma Nikolay Lyubimov (“United Russia”).
Prior to joining the lower house of Parliament 45-year-old Lyubimov in the period from 2015 to 2016 worked as a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Kaluga region of the sixth convocation. From September 2015 he is the Chairman of the regional Parliament.
Previously, from 2011 to 2015, Lyubimov worked as a Deputy Governor of the Kaluga region. At the same time since September 2011 he was head of administration head of the region. In 2007-2010 — the mayor of Kaluga.
