In Turkey detained a new suspect in the murder of the Ambassador of Russia

Turkish police have detained one suspect in the investigation of the murder of the Russian Ambassador in Ankara, Andrey Karlov, the assassination which occurred in December 2016.

Law enforcement authorities in Turkey have confirmed the sixth suspect who may be involved in the murder of the Russian Ambassador in Ankara, Andrey Karlov, reports Anadolu.

The Agency said that the detainee with the initials E. B. (eng. — RBC) supported by telephone contact with the killer of a diplomat.

Earlier on the murder of Charles the Turkish authorities have arrested five people suspected of involvement in the murder of Andrew Charles

Among them — the activist of the opposition preacher Fethullah Gulen and law enforcement officers.

Russia’s Ambassador in Ankara, Andrey Karlov was killed on 19 December during a speech at the opening of the exhibition “Russia through the eyes of the Turks” in the Center of modern art. A former police officer mevlüt Altıntaş several times shot the diplomat in the back. Charles died of his wounds on the way to the hospital.

The Russian foreign Ministry has described the incident as a terrorist act, to the same opinion came in and the UN Security Council.

President Vladimir Putin awarded the Ambassador the title of Hero of Russia posthumously.
