Zakharova said the U.S. statement on the Crimea

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on statements by Washington over Crimea, said that Moscow “does not return its territories”. On Wednesday, February 15, RIA Novosti reported.

“Crimea is the territory of the Russian Federation”, — said the diplomat.

So she responded to the words of press Secretary of the White house Sean Spicer that the President of the United States Donald trump is awaiting the return of the Peninsula Ukraine.

Earlier Wednesday, the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Russia would not discuss with other countries issues related to its territory.

A Kremlin spokesman also expressed hope that contacts with the new White house administration will be established, after which the Russian side “will have the opportunity efficiently, safely and constructively convey their arguments to the American partners”.

During the presidential election campaign in the fall of 2016, trump reported readiness in the event of his victory to consider the recognition of the Crimea part of the Russian Federation and the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions.

The Peninsula became part of Russia after the March 2014 referendum in which the decision was made by the majority of the members voting. Ukraine refuses to recognize the results of the plebiscite. Russia, in turn, insists that the procedure was conducted in accordance with international law.
