NATO said it was ready to dialogue with Moscow

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a press conference in Brussels ahead of the meeting on security said that he had held a phone conversation with the U.S. President, Secretary of state and the Minister of defence of the country. As a result, found out that Washington supports dual-track approach in relations with Moscow, which implies the defense and the dialogue with Moscow.

“As for Russia, during my telephone conversations with the President, Secretary of state and Secretary of defense, I received a message that they fully supported the dual approach: defense and dialogue, and not a choice between defence and dialogue,” said the NATO chief.

Stoltenberg also said that he intends to meet with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov at the Munich security conference. It will be held in the Bavarian capital from the 17th to 19th of February.
