In the state Duma has prepared a bill introducing criminal liability for inducing children to suicide. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the Vice-speaker of the state Duma Irina Yarovaya.
The authors of the bill propose to prosecute people that promote suicide “by councils, instructions, granting of information, instruments or means of committing suicide”. Also, the liability will be incurred for the removal of obstacles for committing suicide and for the promise to hide the means or tools of suicide.
The bill will expand the current composition of the article of the Criminal code on incitement to suicide. Currently the liability is incurred, if the suicide occurred as a result of humiliation.
Spring said that in 2016 in Russia have committed suicide 820 children. “The war is waged against children, the real criminal activity, very well thought-out, organized, focused and having consequences”, — quotes the words of the Deputy TASS.
In February the Investigative Committee of Russia announced the preparation of appeals to the Supreme leadership of the country and heads of relevant departments with a request to develop countermeasures “groups of death” in social networks. The Agency stated that a huge danger is posed by “survival game” or “game to extinction”, organized by the online leaders “groups of death”.
In November 2016 in the case of “groups of death” in the network “Vkontakte” have arrested one of the organizers of such communities Budykina Philip, known as Philip the Fox. The investigative authorities revealed that the young man encouraged teenagers to suicide through play. According to them, his actions influenced the decision of 15 teenagers to commit suicide, five others were at risk, but they managed to escape death.
