Earthquake in the Philippines has damaged houses and airport

An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was started late in the evening on Friday in the province of Surigao, forcing hundreds of residents to leave their homes. The center of the earthquake was located 14 km North-West of the capital of the province of Surigao at a relatively shallow depth of 11 kilometers, said the representative of the Philippine Institute of seismology and Volcanology.

Nearly 100 aftershocks were felt, said the authorities. Now in the region to open schools and evacuation centers, some residents return to their damaged homes.
