The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov to visit Thailand this year, said in an interview with RIA Novosti Director of the third Asian Department of the foreign Ministry Lyudmila Vorobyeva.
“This year we will celebrate the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Thailand. It is a unique date, because only some countries in the Asian region we can talk about the centuries diplomatic relations,” she said.
According to a senior diplomat, in celebration of the anniversary of diplomatic relations planned a series of events dedicated to this date the exchange of letters, joint issue of postage stamps, concerts of Russian and Thai artists in Bangkok and Moscow, weeks movie.
“The visit of Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Thailand really worth it in the agenda of bilateral relations, and the celebration of the 120th anniversary is part of its content”, — Vorobyov said, adding that “partners are consistent with the timing of the visit”, but a specific date yet.
She recalled that, in General, the exchange of visits of heads of foreign ministries of the two countries is ongoing. In particular, in 2015 Lavrov entertained his Thai counterpart.
