Hearings on Russian-American relations could be held in late February — early March in the state Duma, said the head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky.

“We’ll be in Committee to 28 February or 1 March hearings on the theme “the trump Factor and its impact on Russian-American relations and world politics”, — said Slutsky at the meeting of the Committee.

In late January, the presidents of Russia and USA Vladimir Putin and Donald trump held their first phone conversation since the inauguration of the American leader. They discussed a wide range of topical problems in international and bilateral relations and showed “a mindset for active joint work on stabilization and development of the interaction of constructive, equal and mutually beneficial basis.”

The much awaited conversation between the two leaders largely met expectations and gave reason to hope that the crisis in Russian-American relations will be overcome. The Russian President mentioned the 200-year history of relations between the two countries and the fight against the common enemy in both world wars. Now Moscow hopes to re-unite against a new common enemy — terrorism. Under the previous US administration to do so and failed, despite numerous proposals of Russia.
