The Chairman of the “National Council for homeopathy” Alexey Karpeev has accused pharmaceutical companies that they lobbied the Memorandum of the Commission of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), who recognized homeopathy pseudoscience. It is reported by the Federal news Agency.
“Homeopathy as there are so many is after her. Homeopathic medicines take in the total number of medications two to three percent. But the pharmaceutical companies even these percentages do not want to give. It lobbied, because in all other areas homeopathy is growing every year,” said Karpeev.
He compared homeopathy with genetics that in the first half of the twentieth century also recognized pseudoscience.
On 6 February it became known that the Commission on pseudoscience when the RAS Presidium prepared a Memorandum “On the false scientific character of homeopathy”. The Ministry of health recommended the deletion of the homeopathic medicines from public hospitals Antimonopoly service — to protect citizens from false advertising about the availability of these drugs have “therapeutic properties” and pharmacies do not spread the funds along with conventional medicines.
After that, the Ministry of health has promised to establish a working group to develop proposals for the further regulation of the industry. It will include representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, leading medical institutions in the country, as well as homeopaths.
