Russia did not recognize the passports of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR), took place only certain decisions of local authorities or companies, and they were dictated by humanitarian considerations.
This was reported to journalists the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
“This is not an official recognition of passports, we are talking about individual solutions, which could be municipal, local authorities and various companies, based solely on humanitarian considerations, guided by the need to do humanitarian assistance to these people who live in areas of Donbass, which, as you know, is under a strict embargo from the Ukraine”, — said Peskov on the request to comment on the information that Russia allegedly recognized the passport of the LC and the DNI, and the holders of such documents can use the services of Railways of the Russian Federation, hotels, and airlines.
“You know that Ukraine is not engaged in social security, legal security, passport security. These people are deteriorating valid Ukrainian passport, and they have no opportunity to obtain any additional documents. Based on these humanitarian grounds, such a situation really were possible,” — said Peskov, confirming that officially in Russia, such passports are not recognized.
