Lukashenko instructed to initiate proceedings against the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a press conference said that he had instructed to initiate proceedings against the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert due to problems with food supplies to the Russian market, reports TASS.

“We need to examine the issue and to initiate a criminal case according to Dankvert for damage to the state. When he will be in custody, then he will realize what he’s doing,” — said Lukashenko.

After the government introduced special economic measures in response to anti-Russian sanctions of some Western countries, Belarus has become a major exporter and re-exporter of many food products, including tomatoes and pears. Thus, according to the Rosselkhoznadzor, in comparison with 2013, exports of tomatoes from Belarus have almost doubled to 144 thousand tons by 2015, exports of pears during the same period increased from 33 thousand to 175 thousand tons.
