Reducing the salaries of the teachers in the Ivanovo region in January 2017 linked to a small number of working days. As reported “Interfax”, said on Friday, February 3, head of the regional Department of education Olga Antonova.
“January is not significant for the calculation of the average wage. In January every year there is some reduction in wages, caused by objective reasons. This month a little business days and, accordingly, decreases the amount of incentive payments”, — she said.
The official recalled that the salaries of teachers are formed of salary, compensation and incentive payments and depend on the qualifications of teachers, as well as complexity, quantity and quality of work performed. “So she can be above or below a target value set by the decree of the President of the country,” said Antonov.
Earlier, on 3 February meeting the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko with employees of social institutions teacher schools Komsomolsk district, Ivanovo region, said that in her neighborhood since January 1, the salary of teachers fell from an average of 20 thousand rubles to 14 thousand, and in one of the schools — to 7 thousand rubles.
In response, Matvienko expressed outrage. “It sounds good on paper, almost all governors reported all wages meet the may decrees. And it turns out a teacher from a particular school — it’s a complete disgrace. How can seven thousand teacher? Who will go on this salary?” she said.
The Federation Council speaker noted that those constituent entities of the Russian Federation, in which teachers ‘ salaries are below the average for the region, violate the may decrees of the President of the Russian Federation. It invited the Minister of education and science of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva, participated in the meeting, to deal with this problem, she promised to contact the authorities of the region.
In August, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev answering the question about the low salary of teachers said that teaching is a vocation and energetic teacher will find a way to earn extra money. “If you want to earn money, there are lots of wonderful places where you can do it faster and better — the same business,” — said the head of the Cabinet.
