Lavrov said the draft Constitution of the Syrian attempt to find common ground

MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in telephone conversation with the foreign Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault stressed that the Russian draft Constitution of Syria is an attempt to find common ground between Damascus and the opposition. This was stated in the Russian depodesta on the results of the conversation held on the initiative of Ayrault.

“During the discussion of the situation in Syria, Sergei Lavrov briefed on the results of the meeting in Astana, where for the first time, despite numerous differences, it was possible to bring together representatives from Damascus and the armed opposition actually control the situation on the ground, memorize the cessation of hostilities and to induce the parties to dialogue, contributing to the resumption of negotiations under UN auspices in Geneva, drew attention to the foreign Ministry. – Work on the court of Astana in this direction will be continued”.

The head of depodesta of the Russian Federation commented on the Russian side prepared the draft of the Syrian Constitution, noting that “it’s – “invitation to conversation”, an attempt to find common ground in the approaches of the government of the Syrian Arab Republic and the opposition in order to create the conditions for the Syrians themselves to determine the fate of their country in accordance with resolution 2254 of the UN security Council”.
