Russian senators will require Parliament to stop the aggression in the Donbass

The Federation Council plans to submit to the Verkhovna Rada with an appeal to stop the aggression in the Donbass. It is reported TASS on Wednesday, February 1.

“I propose to take the appeal chamber to the Verkhovna Rada with a call to stop the aggression in the Donbass, and to respect the Minsk agreement”, — he addressed to his colleagues at the meeting, the head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.

He stressed that the situation in the South-East of Ukraine deteriorated sharply because of the provocation of Kiev, which “is similar to a well-orchestrated play”. According to Kosachev voiced data, the Ukrainian soldiers in violation of the Minsk agreement, trying to take a neutral territory and move the line of contact.

The speaker of the upper house of Parliament Valentina Matvienko supported the initiative of the head of the international Committee. The senators will prepare a written appeal to the Ukrainian Parliament. In what terms it is accepted, is not specified.

On 31 January the UN Security Council expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in the Donbass, and called immediately to restore the ceasefire. Earlier in the day the Russian foreign Ministry appealed to Kiev to cease armed provocations on the territory of the region.

The self-proclaimed representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, in turn, asked the leaders of Russia, Germany and the United States to stop the shelling of Donbass by Ukrainian Armed forces.

Ongoing for several days the fighting near the city of Avdeevka were the most violent since August 2015, when the Ukrainian security forces conducted massive bombardment of the territory of the breakaway Donetsk people’s Republic. Also on Tuesday, the Ukrainian army shelled located near Donetsk city Yasinovataya of reactive systems of volley fire “Grad”.
