Meeting of presidents of Russia and USA Vladimir Putin and Donald trump will be held before the summit of “Big twenty”, the official Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. His words on Monday, January 30, the correspondent “Tapes.ru”.
“Assistants, not shelving them, will be engaged in discussion of this question in order to formulate proposals to the presidents place and time,” — said Peskov, adding that leaders, apparently, will meet before the G20 summit, which is scheduled for July 7-8 in Hamburg.
However, to speak about some “deals” with the United States until personal contact of presidents are premature, said Peskov. “And in the course of the meeting the heads of state will have the opportunity to continue a more focused discussion of the issues that have emerged in the course of our conversation,” — said the representative of the Kremlin. He also added that “now to talk about who knows how to make deals, who can not, is hardly appropriate”.
The head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Slovenia Karl Erjavec said that the country is ready to provide a platform for talks between the presidents of Russia and the United States.
23 January on the readiness to organize a meeting with trump and Putin also said the Prime Minister of Finland, Juha Sipilä.
15 Jan newspaper the Sunday Times wrote that the American President intends to meet with his Russian counterpart in Reykjavik in the coming weeks. However, on the same day, representatives of trump has denied these reports.
Vladimir Putin and Donald trump twice and talked on the phone. The last conversation took place on January 28 and lasted about 45 minutes. Prior to that, the heads of state interviewed on 14 November 2016.
