Princes William and Harry will establish in London a statue of Princess Diana

Until the end of 2017 in London, a statue of Diana, Princess of Wales, in the year of the 20th anniversary of her death, said on the official page of the English Royal court in Instagram.



“Twenty years have passed since the death of our mother, now is the time to the construction of the statue to recognize its positive impact on the United Kingdom and the world. We hope that the memorial will help all visitors to Kensington Palace to think about her life and her legacy”, the statement says the children of Diana. princes William and Harry.



According to them, the monument will be erected in the gardens of Kensington Palace, which lies to the West of the British capital. Children of Diana had already established a special Commission to raise funds, and the name of the sculptor will be announced later. The statue will be the fourth monument to Princess Diana in London.



Diana Frances Spencer was born in 1961. At age 20 she married the heir to the British throne Charles, Prince of Wales. However, the marriage failed and the couple divorced in 1996. Diana died on the night of 31 August 1997 in a car accident in Paris. Her car chased by paparazzi.



Many media called the Princess of Wales “most famous woman of the twentieth century”.
