Died ex-member of Black Sabbath

Former keyboardist for the British band Black Sabbath, Jeff Nichols has passed away at the age of 68 years. This information was confirmed by the guitarist of heavy metal band Tony Iommi, reports RIA Novosti. Nichols died of lung cancer.


 


“I’m very saddened by the news of the loss of one of my dearest and closest friends of Jeff Nichols. He has long been suffering from lung cancer and lost the fight with him this morning,” – said Iommi.


 


Nichols was part of Black Sabbath from 1979 to 2004. First, he participated as a session musician and then joined the team on a permanent basis. In 2007, he again played with the band.


 


Black Sabbath was formed in Birmingham in 1968 by four British – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Gisera Butler and bill ward. The group had a significant focus on modern rock music and with interruptions lasted until the present time. Last year she began a farewell tour that will end February 4, 2017 in Birmingham.
