The Deputy of fraction of LDPR Sergey Ivanov introduced the state Duma a draft law which introduces administrative arrest for threatening doctors who are not causing harm to their health. The document is available in the Duma electronic database.
The parliamentarian, in particular, proposes to Supplement the article “Small hooliganism” the Code about administrative offenses, the subparagraph on tougher sanctions for “violation of public order expressing clear disrespect for society, accompanied by obscene abuse in public places, offensive molestation to citizens, as well as the destruction or damage of property”, if we are talking about the actions associated “with the threat of violence, committed against staff of the medical institutions in the performance of official or professional duties.” The bill provides sanctions for it in the form of a fine in the amount from 1 thousand to 2.5 thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
“The increased attacks on health workers, in the performance of their official and professional duties, demonstrate the insufficiency of existing measures for their protection, including legal”, – stated in the explanatory Memorandum.
