The Congress of the party “United Russia” approved the new composition of its Supreme Council, which first became Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, RIA “Novosti”.
According to the Charter of “United Russia”, the high Council is elected by the Congress delegates list by open vote from among the “prominent public and political figures of Russia who had great authority in Russian society and in the international arena, including non-members of the party.”
Earlier it was reported that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was re-elected Chairman of the party “United Russia”.
