Merkel predicted the world to a new historical era

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the world is entering a new historical era. On Tuesday, January 24, according to Reuters.

“I think that after a quarter-century after the unification of Germany, the end of the Cold war, perhaps, a new historical era is replacing another,” said Merkel.

However, she expressed the opinion that openness, and not populism, polarization, and isolation would be the solution to such global issues as globalization. “We have to show that adhere to the basic principles of our nation,” added the Chancellor.

January 22, foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that with the election of Donald trump for President of the United States, the old world of the twentieth century, “finally over.” In his view, the world must be ready for turbulent times. The question of which values will be dominant in the twenty-first century, remains open, he added.

The inauguration of Donald trump, was held in Washington on January 20. In his speech, the President stated that his main priority will be the benefit of the United States, and promised to return power to the American people.

On January 16 Republican criticized the migration policy of Angela Merkel. “I think she’s made a very disastrous mistake — took all these illegal aliens,” said Republican.
