The owner of the equestrian club “allure”, where the roof collapse killed two people, pleaded guilty and asked for forgiveness from the relatives of the victims of the tragedy. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“I first want to apologize to the victims’ families. I feel guilty and ready to be punished, which will make the court”, – said the owner of the club Igor Vorotnikov in the court.
He also noted that the version that the roof could not withstand the accumulated snow, it seems not true. According to the owner, the snow from the roof of the club was removed last December 16.
Vorotnikov believes that the roof could collapse due to a 50-centimeter layer of snow, as the load on the structure provided up to 2 meters of snow.
The incident occurred January 19, 2017 in the area of the New village of Novosibirsk region. There collapsed the roof of the equestrian club “allure”, as a result, killed 45-year-old coach and the 15-year-old pupil. 47-year-old club owner was arrested.
