The Finance Ministry proposes to limit the cash settlement

The Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov proposed to return to the idea of limiting the cash payments. He stated at the party Congress, RIA Novosti reported.

“We probably still need to think about reducing the cash payments. Many countries go through this — especially now, look, in India large-scale attack went to the cash payments,” — said Siluanov.

According to Siluanov, such a move is rational and can contribute to the so-called “whitewashing the economy”. By reducing the cash it would be possible to collect more taxes, Siluanov noted.

Thus, according to the Minister, the Russian economy will become more transparent.

In India from 9 November 2016 in the framework of the fight against the shadow economy, corruption, counterfeiting and the financing of terrorism withdrawn from circulation banknotes in denominations of 500 and 1000 rupees. The government expects that the Indians will actively use cashless payments.
