The presidents of Russia and Moldova Vladimir Putin and Igor Dodon in the negotiations have agreed on cooperation in various fields. It is reported RIA Novosti on Tuesday, January 17.

Chisinau hopes to open a new page in relations with Moscow, said Igor Dodon. “I want the citizens clearly understood and were confident that the majority of citizens of Moldova, regardless of the declarations of some politicians, want to be friends with the Russian Federation. We are committed to strategic partnership”, — he stressed.

Putin, in turn, expressed confidence that the visit of the Moldovan President will push for the development of relations between the two countries in all areas.

The two leaders, in particular, the meeting requested the experts to address issues in the energy sector. In addition, Dodon and Putin took time of trade, of migrants and of the situation in Transnistria.

Earlier Tuesday it was reported that the Russian leader called a courageous act of the trip Dodon in Transnistria. If Moldova and the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic will come to a compromise, Russia ready to act as a guarantor of the agreements reached, Putin said.

Negotiations between Moldova and Russia at the highest level was last held in 2008.
