Crimea will tell UN as Ukraine violates human rights

Crimea has prepared a draft resolution of the UN about how human rights violations on the Peninsula in the period when the Crimea was part of Ukraine. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the member of the Crimean government Zaur Smirnov.

 

“The Crimean project of the UN resolution on Ukraine has been prepared. It covers a wide period of all events associated including the violation of human rights in the Crimea, in the Ukrainian period. We have tried to chronologically describe the whole situation,” he said.

 

At the end of last year, Ukraine has declared that in the Crimea “violated human rights”, there is discrimination against the residents of Crimea, including “the Crimean Tatars, but also Ukrainians and persons belonging to other ethnic and religious groups”. The Ukrainian government asked the UN to check the situation in the Crimea.

 

In response to the Crimean authorities also urged the UN to draw attention to human rights violations in Ukraine.
