Putin instructed the OP to assess the effectiveness of public commissions

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Public chamber of Russia to analyze the efficiency of the mechanism of the formation of public monitoring commissions, formed in subjects of the Russian Federation, said in a statement on the official Kremlin website.

“The public chamber of the Russian Federation jointly with the Council under RF President on development of civil society and human rights and with the participation of the Commissioner for human rights in Russia to analyze the efficiency of the mechanism of the formation of public monitoring commissions, formed in subjects of the Russian Federation… and to submit proposals for its improvement”, — stated in the President’s instructions following the meeting of the Council for development of civil society and human rights, held on 8 December 2016.

It is expected that a report thereon will be prepared by March 30, responsible for the execution of appointed Secretary OP Alexander Brechalov, head of the presidential Council on human rights (HRC) Mikhail Fedotov and the Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova.
