The President of Russia — Supreme commander of the Armed forces (AF) of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will hold the annual Board meeting of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation, told reporters on Wednesday, press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
“Tomorrow during the day, the President will hold an expanded meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of defense of Russia”, — said Peskov.
Annual extended Board meeting of the Russian defense Ministry held in December under the leadership of the President. In 2014 these meetings are held at the National defence control centre in Moscow.
They are attended by the senior members of the armed forces, representatives of bodies of state power, the military-industrial complex (MIC). At meetings, summarizing the activities of the armed forces, identifies the main challenges to the military buildup and the main directions of the Russian defense Ministry.
So, in the course of the extended meeting of the Collegium of the defense Ministry in December 2015, Putin put the armed forces and defense industry of Russia five priorities for strengthening military security and defense of the country, including the continued modernisation of the armed forces and the adoption of modern technology, strengthening the combat potential of the strategic nuclear forces, the implementation of defense space programs, increase the intensity of combat training, development of military cooperation with allies and partners.
