Luzhkov came up with the idea of single-storey Russia

Yuri Luzhkov

The former mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov considers as the main wealth of Russia’s agricultural land. He told this in an interview kp.ru Thursday, December 22.

“Land, climate, and industrial resources of Russia sufficient abundance to feed two to three times more population than now lives in our country,” — said Luzhkov.

In his opinion, the way of revival of Russia lies in the “return to field”. According to the former mayor, now half of agricultural land is not used and is “bungling”.

“To me, any idea of a one-story (farmstead) in Russia, and not in the metropolis of the nest in which want to turn the white stone, stretching its length almost to Kaluga,” — concluded Luzhkov.

5 December it was reported that the former Moscow mayor may be the head of the special Commission on the land question, which it is planned to create in the Kaliningrad region.

At the end of September after receiving Luzhkov in the Kremlin, the order “For merits before Fatherland” IV degree promised to “return from oblivion” and to help the country with agriculture.

Luzhkov has held the post of mayor of Moscow from 1992 to 2010 and was dismissed by the decree of the President with the phrase “in connection with loss of trust”. Now he owns the company “Private stud farm “weeder””, which is located in the Kaliningrad region. This is the only farm in Russia breeding thoroughbred horses Hanoverian, Holsteiner and Trakehner breeds. The company is also engaged in cultivation of grain crops.
