The OSCE permanent Council adopted a Declaration condemning the murder of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation

Participating countries of the OSCE on the initiative of Russia adopted at the special meeting a Declaration condemning the murder of the Russian Ambassador in Turkey Andrey Karlov. This was stated by TASS following the meeting, Russia’s permanent representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich.

According to him, Russia’s initiative held a special meeting of the Permanent Council, taking into account the tragic events in Turkey. “We focused on our idea to make a separate Declaration about the terrorist attack on our Ambassador in Turkey. Today our initiative is realized, it managed to agree quickly enough. This Declaration of the 57 States parties in relation to the brutal terrorist attack on the Russian Ambassador in Turkey,” – said the Russian permanent representative.

As said Lukashevich, the Declaration contains “strong condemnation of this terrorist antics, which led to the death of our famous and distinguished diplomat, Ambassador Andrew Charles”. “Expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the deceased and words of sympathy and solidarity of Russia and our government,” he added.

The diplomat noted that the Declaration deals with the development of “Ministerial decision, adopted in Hamburg on 9 December, on the strengthening of OSCE’s role in combating international terrorism.”

In Ankara on December 19, was shot dead at the opening of the exhibition, Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov. According to Turkish authorities, the attack was made by the police officer mevlüt MERT Altıntaş, he was eliminated by local security forces. As a result of actions of the offender were injured three people. The Russian foreign Ministry has described the incident as a terrorist attack.
