Kosachev: ultimatums and insults will not help Japan in dialogue with Russia

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. The results of the first over the past 11 years of the Russian President’s visit to Japan suggests that Russia is ready to discuss the topic of the Kuril Islands, despite the fact that it has no “territorial issue”. The head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev expressed in his column in the newspaper “Izvestia”.

“Russia has no territorial issues and controversial topics. But she is ready to talk with Japan about it, knowing how important it is for politicians and companies. However, no ultimatums, no insults here will not help,” – said Kosachev.
