MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. The latest Russian anti-aircraft missile system (ADMS) medium-range “Buk-M3” could be the sold on the arms market and compete with the new system of air defense of the United States, MEADS (Medium Extended Air Defense System). This view was expressed by leading expert of the Bureau of political and military analysis Alexander Mikhailov.

“It is expected that the development included in the “Almaz-Antey” named Tikhomirov NIIP will make a splash on the world arms market among products of its class. As a result, the developer MEADS may suffer financial losses,” – said Mikhailov.

Specialist compared the Russian complex with the latest Western system, which since 1999, develops the American company Lockheed Martin.

Integration into the combat network

According to the military expert, one of the weaknesses of the “Buk-M3”, unlike MEADS, called the alleged inability to integrate into a single combat network with possibility of remote control launchers, but in fact, this option was laid down in the development of a family of “Buk”.
