Bjoerndalen: Russian athletes guilty of doping

Eight-time Olympic champion in biathlon, Norway’s OLE Einar Bjoerndalen said that he would consider Russian biathletes innocent of doping until proven guilty, RIA Novosti reported.


 


“For me they are all “pure” until then, until they are removed. If even 10% of what was said in the report of the McLaren really is a disaster, but I would like to see the evidence,” said Bjoerndalen.


 


Earlier, double Olympic biathlon champion Martin Fourcade of France called on athletes to boycott the world Cup if the international biathlon Union not to take tough measures against Russians amid a doping scandal. A list of 31 Russian athlete suspected of using illegal substances IBU received from the world anti-doping Agency (WADA).
