France calls for emergency UN security Council over the situation in Aleppo

France demanded the convening of an emergency UN Security Council over the situation in Aleppo. It is reported by TASS, citing AFP.


 


It is noted that the meeting will take place tonight – new York time. It will be held behind closed doors, and the decisions that are make in here will be purely Advisory in nature.


 


The main issue on the agenda is the evacuation of civilians “as well as provide them with humanitarian assistance”.


 


Earlier, France and Germany had supplied the government of Syria and its allies an ultimatum to ensure the safe withdrawal of civilians from East Aleppo.
