No one in the OSCE supported the establishment of armed police mission in the Donbass, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Your first question about the armed police mission in the Donbass, why is it not discussed? You know, because nobody supported the establishment of armed police mission of the OSCE in the Donbass, none of the members of the OSCE, well, maybe, except for Ukraine, I’m sorry, I can’t speak for Kiev”, — said Lavrov.

Earlier, Kiev appealed to the UN and the EU with a request to send in the Donbass military mission that would monitor the implementation of the agreement on cease-fire. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Ivanna klympush-Tsintsadze said that now under consideration, the armed mission of the OSCE, “now seems the only option.” According to her, the UN missions and the EU “did not work”. She noted that the issue of control of the Ukrainian border by the OSCE mission to Ukraine is very acute.

In turn, Deputy foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told RIA Novosti that in the Donbass international armed mission is not considered now, not found a solution on the question of armed service weapon of the OSCE observers. According to him, Kiev was the idea of the deployment of armed observers, “in order to divert attention from their own obligations to negotiate with the Donbas, the draft law on local elections, that is, the main problem is trying to replace the secondary issues.”
