Putin for the second time in two days discussed Syria with Erdogan

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. On Saturday, November 26, the press service of the Kremlin, reports RIA Novosti.

“Today had a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan during which the two leaders continued exchanging opinions on the situation in Syria,” the statement reads. The evaluation of the press service of the Kremlin, the exchange of views was held in a constructive way, said TASS.

Previous conversation of the heads of state took place on 25 November at the initiative of the Turkish side. Putin and Erdogan discussed, in particular, trade and economic cooperation and the situation in Syria. They agreed to continue to coordinate efforts in the fight against international terrorism.

Putin also thanked President of Turkey’s condolences in connection with death of Turkish soldiers in Syria. November 24, Ankara accused Damascus in an airstrike by Turkish troops, located on Syrian territory, which killed three soldiers and another ten were injured.
